Supplies
You will need:
- Filament
- Glue (I used UHU glue)
- Coin cell battery
- LED of your choice
- Tape
- Paper/plastic bags/baking sheets (or anything that diffuses LED lights)
- Mirror (optional)
Tools:
- Scissors
- 3D Printer (does that count as a tool?)
Step 1: Download, Print and Assemble
Download this file and print it. You can scale it down if it is too big. I used an Adventurer 4 with a grey filament. This print does not need a raft or supports.
You now should have four pieces. Trim any untidy bits with a pen-knife or scissors.
Step 2: Cover the Holes
With your paper (or what you chose), cut it to the size of the ear, and glue it on with UHU glue. Do the same with the lid, applying paper to the inside.
Step 3: Glue the Ears on and Adding Lights
Glue both ears above the small holes, and make sure that the paper is facing in front (the hole side)
Place a coin-celled battery between the LED (colour of your choice) prongs, making sure that the longer prong is on the numbered side, when you are happy with it and it works, gently tape it to secure. Carefully place the LED light in the box and close the lid! Remove the LED from the battery if you want to turn it off.
Done! (If you want, you can glue the mirror at an angle that fits best for you)
