Introduction: A Wooden Sword
Almost all of us have dreamed of being knights from some magical kingdom at one point or another. What if we told you that this dream could become true? Follow us on our fantastical journey and make your very own sword!
Supplies
a wooden plank, 100 x 2 x 9 cm
golden spray paint
acrylic enamel
a ribbon
nails
a wooden stick (diameter 2.5cm, 25cm long)
a hot glue gun
a saw
sand paper
a 3D printed cat
Step 1: The Blade
First, cut the shape of the blade out of the wooden plank using a saw. Then sand the edges with sand paper. The blade is 80cm long. You can paint it with a golden spray paint and an acrylic enamel so it's shiny.
Step 2: Hand Guard
The rest of the plank is used to make a hand guard. Cut off the edges and sand it to create a rounded shape. You can also paint it with acrylic paint.
Step 3: Handle
After that take a stick (d=2.5cm) and glue a ribbon around it using the hot glue gun. You can also add something on top like a gem or in our case a 3D printed cat.
Step 4: Assembly
After that, take the hand guard and the handle and nail it together with a long nail. You can also glue it with a hot glue gun so it doesn't rotate. Then with two shorter nails nail the blade to the rest.
Step 5: Congratulations!
And after that, the sword is done! Congrats! Of course, be careful and don't hurt anybody!
